Last week the club AGM was held and the following committee resignations were confirmed...
Firstly, Tony Mooney, our chairperson for the last four years, announced he was stepping down with immediate effect. Everyone involved with the club would agree his tenure has overseen a dramatic transformation, with the number of girls at the club skyrocketing and our relationship with local sponsors and our landlords at Pomphrey Hill significantly strengthened. We thank him deeply and wish him all the best in his future ventures. He will remain a familiar face due to his continuing role with Pomphrey Hill and we all look forward to working with him as we all strive for the same goal...to increase youth sport in the vicinity.
Additionally we have to announce that two long standing coaches and committee members are also leaving this summer. Amanda Carr and Chris Showering have both worked tirelessly as coaches and committee members for a number of years and their input on and off the football pitch will be dearly missed.
All three members leave the club in arguably the best shape it’s even been in. They leave behind a passionate and experienced committee, all eager to steer the club through this short transition period. In early September an Extraordinary General Meeting(EGM) will be held, at which a new chair will be elected as well as others joining a larger and more representative committee.
